In this work, we have fabricated La{sub}0.67Ca{sub}0.33MnO{sub}3/YBa{sub}2Cu{sub}3O{sub}y heteroepitaxial bilayers on SrTiO{sub}3 (100) substrates by rf magnetron sputtering. The La{sub}0.67Ca{sub}0.33MnO{sub}3/YBa{sub}2Cu{sub}3O{sub}y bilayers were characterized by x-ray diffraction, rocking curve measurenents, scanning electron microscope and de four-probe measurements. Both La{sub}0.67Ca{sub}0.33MnO{sub}3 and YBa{sub}2Cu{sub}3O{sub}y layers show excellent crystallinity indicated by their sharp and narrow rocking curves. The La{sub}0.67Ca{sub}0.33MnO{sub}3/YBa{sub}2Cu{sub}3O{sub}y bilayers exhibit a very smooth surface. The relation between the superconducting critical current density of YBa{sub}2Cu{sub}3O{sub}y and temperature was also investigated.
