摘要

Sophistication of radio equipment, especially of the mobile telephone has accelerated rationalization in the field of EMC. In connection with this problem, the standard requirements for the PHS and the automobile car telephone have previously described the limits of radiation disturbance from the car body through the effectively radiated power and carried out the measurement accordingly in the free-space type test site. However, the new standards (ARIB STD-T57/1999-10) have modified them to return back to the methods reported by the telecommunication technology committee(1992)without knowing why. It means that the limit be specified by the electric field strength and the measurements, made with the metallic-plane-reflection type test site and the prolonged dipole and it may lower measurements efficiency down to 1/20 or so compare with the one by the free-space method, and cause incorrect conversion of the effectively radiated power through increasing measurement error (10~20dB or more by the indefinite measure). It may not only lower international competitive power of the information industries in Japan, but also give rise to a serious problem on unfavorable effects of electromagnetic waves to a human body. This paper explain urgency of immediate revision of the new standard requirements.
