The effect of various antimony containing additives (antimony trioxide, Schlippe salt, potassium tartrate) on the characteristics of zinc containing solutions purification from cobalt through three-stage and two-stage copper-cadmium cleaning was studied. It has been shown that the efficiency of impact of additives containing antimony on cobalt purification to a great extent depends not on the kind of antimony containing compounds, but on cobalt and copper content in the solutions to be purified and the ratios of copper/antimony in them. The optimal copper content and that of antimony additives introduced for maximal cobalt sedimentation deposit are demonstrated.
