摘要

Life is preserved by maintaining homeostasis when exposed to factors that may impair the internal or external environment. Factors that may disrupt the internal environment are called stressors. Stress is defined as an abnormal condition that occurs within an organism experiencing a stressor. The definition and types of stressors are defined by their cause. Oxidative stress is caused by reactive oxygen species (ROS) produced by endogenous or exogenous sources within an organism, and is a major causeof stress to cells or tissues. The body has developed a redox (oxidation and reduction) regulating system, which acts as a defensive system against oxidative stress. The present study focused on basic in vivo and in vitro studies of canine thioredoxin (Trx), a redox regulating protein known in human medicine.
