日本産南方系ホンダワラ属【21】シ口コモクとぃぅホンダヮラ

摘要

Sargassum kushimotense Yendo recorded firstly based on the specimen collected from Kushimoto, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. This species is characterized by:1)discoid holdfast and terete stem with smooth or warty surface; 2) compressed main and lateral branch with spines; 3)lanceolate or narrow lanceolate leaves, simple, with dentate and rippling margin; 4) spherical or elliptical vesicles with coronal leaf on the top of vesicle; 5) medullary strand into the vesicle, and 6) dioecious receptacles with spines on the edge. Because type specimen of this species was a part of the branch, the taxonomic problem about this species still exists.
