The catches of prawn and other shrimps in Seto Inland Sea are about 40 % in the total catch of Japan.The catch of prawn became minimal at 1970 though the reason of the decrease was unclear. The catch of prawn wasdecreased from 1983 and the decrease was proportional to the area of the reclamation. About nine ton of the catchwas decreased per square kilometer. Other shrimps were decreased from 1970. The decreases of prawn and othershrimps were thought to be due to the reclamation.
