幻の高級魚キジハ夕の資源増大に向けた山口県の試み

We aimed at the industrialization of the seed production of the Red Spotted Grouper, Epinephelus akaara which fishermen expected very much. Since 2003, we have worked on development tor the seed production engineering of the Red Spotted Grouper. As a result of having worked on early natural decrease measures of the breeding, we established the seed production technique that could produce 1,000 or more juveniles per 1 kL-tank in 2007. We transferred the technique to the Yamaguchi Prefectural Sea Farming Public Corporation from 2008 through 2010. Then mass production business of the fish started in 2012, and the system which could supply a large quantity of seeds to fishermen was established. We now attempt to increase the resources by the creation of the protection area and the resource management in coastal waters of Yamaguchi prefecture.
