摘要

Cr~a3ditive is co+monly aplied for flash-lamp or solar-pumped laser systems to enhance the overal laser efficiency of Nd:YAG. We examined the effectiveness of new elements on the further excitation efficiency enhancement of Cr/Nd:YAG. Such elements as Ti~E,wC23,u~ e3+rC, ePr e~d3++o,o apn~de Vd~~ into YAG ceramic powders synthesized by a sol-gel method, because these absorptions exist between 300 and 500 nm. The experimental results verified that Ce~ w3as the most+ efectivelement. The most efective Ce~3+ concentration to 0.3 mol%-Cr/1.0 mol%-Nd:YAG ceramic powder was 0.9 mol% and the excitation efficiency was enhanced to 2.4 times more than that of Cr/Nd:YAG without Ce~Thenergy . 3+ transfer of Ce~3+ipN3orno binab Clye /oCcdrc/+uNrdre:Yd~ AbeGcause thefective lifetime of Nd~3+ almost equaled the lifetime of Nd~3+ion in Nd: YAG. Ce/Cr/YAG might be a new laser material for solar and flash-lamp pumped lasers.
