摘要

The SUPERCAP has very high capcitance in a small package, because capacitance per unit area of the electric double layer is as much as 20 to 40 #mu#F/cm~2. The specific surface area of the activated carbon is 1000 m~2 per gram. One gram activated carbon particles thus provides 200 to 400 F capacitance.This divice is intermediate of battery and capacitor. It functions as a back up power source for the CMOS Memory or Microcomputer when the primary power source is not available, because of the powerdown or momentary power breakdown.The authors have developed a high breakdown voltage (12V. DC) type SUPERCAP by improvement of the electroconductive rubber.
