High environmental demands necessitates the development of the newbinders with high carbon residual which makes it possible to avoidliberation of toxic and carcinogen compounds upon their heattreatment, technological properties ofthe binders being the same. A possibility of using thermoreactivepolymer binder on the base ofresorcinol oligomer for nonfired carbonpericlase refractories is hown.A binder is soluble in water andorganic solvents and posesseshigh carbon residual ( >60% ). The samples of carbon periclaserefractories containing 5-12% of graphitethat were manufactured using the developed binder exhibited highceramic and mechanical properties.
