The heat spreading selection criteria in a massive product are proposed. Equations for the critical product thickness determination depending on heat input place, linear energy and thermal properties of product metal are obtained. If product thickness is no more than critical value the flat layer as a rated scheme is selected, if more - half - infinite or infinite body.
