摘要

Background: There is increasing evidence that under-nutrition during a critical period in early life may increase the subsequent risk of developing obesity, associated hypertension and metabolic disease in adulthood. Several hormones are altered in obesity and are implicated in the development of obesity-induced hypertension. Aim: To examine the impact of early postnatal under-nutrition on growth, blood pressure, and plasma hormones. Further, to examine the effect of postnatal under-nutrition on growth and adiposity in animals consuming a high-fat diet post weaning.
