New trends in water, wastewater and urban system integration technologies contributing to social infrastructure construction

The economic environment surrounding Japan has recently been rapidly changing. Toward the 21st century, new programs have started to be developed in public works. Toshiba has been developing not only water, wastewater and urban system integrationtechnologies, but also energy and environment technologies as well as information and communication technologies, applying social system integration.In this paper, new trends in these technologies are described. In addition, a landscape water circulation and environment management system as well as a disaster information management system, which are contributing to the construction of socialinfrastructure, are introduced.
