Pumping-generating units for Ghatghar pumped storage scheme, India

Fuji Electric has received an order for two units of 125 MW vertical Francis pump-turbine, generator-motor and control equipment for Ghatghar Pumped Storage Scheme, Government of Maharashtra Irrigation Department, India, which are being steadilymanufactured. This is the first high head, large capacity pumped storage scheme of the customer; who expects much from our supplies. This paper describes an outline of this scheme and the main features of the pump-turbine, generator-motor; and staticfrequency converter for the generator-motor starter taken up from among our supplies.
