摘要

Environmental problems due to increasing energy consumption, air pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions must be resolved in the 21St century. The use of hydrogen energy may become an important solution to these problems. R&D has been conducted on liquid hydrogen tankers and liquid hydrogen storage tanks for transportation and storage under the WE-NET (World Energy Network) program promoted by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. Through conceptual design, the configuration andtechnical problems have been clarified. And the results of research are described, of the thermal insulation system which is indispensable for transportation and storage of liquid hydrogen, and of the slush hydrogen with higher density than liquidhydrogen.
