Basic material tests for application of high-tensile steels to low-temperature boiler components

摘要

The ultimate tensile stress of structural steels has increased with the modification of toughness andweldability. These steels have been applied to various industrial uses. In the present study, thefundamental data have been obtained, such as corrosion-resistance, fatigue strength, and workability,necessary for the practical application of these high-tensile steels to boiler low-temperaturecomponents. The results of material tests showed that corrosion resistance and workability werealmost equivalent and fatigue strength was the same or superior to those of the present materials. Byaccumulating data, the possibility of practical use of the high-tensile steel was shown.
