摘要

Various testings should be timely conducted both in academic research & component studying stage and in type approval receiving stage prior to mass-production, when developing new aerospace engines. This paper identifies the required testings and associated test facilities for both stages. In particular, the Altitude Test Facility (ATF), is the most important testing facility, which is able to simulate literally high altitude conditions such as low pressure and cold temperature to validate and confirm engine running in predicted reliable manners. The necessary propulsion facility complex is proposed, based upon anticipated requirements for future engines.
