The concept of the offshore floating LNG terminal using the unique SPB (Self-supporting Prismatic shape IMO type B) technique has been developed and preliminary design for various projects has been conducted. "Production and Storage" facilities with a storage capacity of 90000 m~3 up to 190000 m~3 and "Storage and Regasification" facilities with a capacity of 30000 m~3 up to 350000 m~3 have been studied and designed as compact and reliable facilities using SPB tank technology. In addition, the LNG transfer system, which is one of the challenges in floating terminals, has been studied and analytical methods to identify relative motions between two floaters have been developed, which were used as the design basis for the mooring system of the LNG carriers and LNG transfer equipment. Typical features of the preliminary design are introduced.
