Cornea, intraocular pressure and glaucoma.

In earlier times, glaucoma was considered a simple problem of elevated intraocular pressure (IOP). Later, an appreciation of normal-tension glaucoma changed the way in which clinicians considered IOP.1 Still, IOP has remained an important predictor of progressive disease and the only effective treatment for glaucoma is the reduction of IOP. There has also been recent interest in the variability of IOP as a predictor of progressive disease.
