Selection, teaching and training in ophthalmology.

Abstract This article examines the training requirements for ophthalmic surgical training, and the selection, assessment and training methodologies used for trainees, and also comments on the role of the surgical trainers. As an introduction to the article, a brief description of the current scheme in the UK is given.
