Spreading behavior on the surface of the water was observed for three kinds of commercial fuel iol C. The effects of time, temperature, pour point and kinematic viscosity on the surface of the oil-film area were investigated in detail. It was found that the oil-film spread abruptly above the specific temperature. This particular ponit closely related to the kinematic viscosity of oil. In the case of fuel oil used in this experiment, the oil-film spread abruptly regardless of the kind of fuel oils, when the kinematic viscosity of the oil reached 60000 mm~2/s.
