A compact data representation for embedded service collaboration environments

A collaboration of services enables to provide more useful and sophisticated services. Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) is difficult to be installed on embedded systems with small memory capacity, because it requires heavy processing loads for parsing XML. We propose a compact data representation that realizes service collaboration including such embedded systems as servers. These systems are cooperated with remote procedure calls. This data representation can represent struct data without nest structure. We implemented a server program of the compact data representation by 80 KB Java codes.
