End to server QoS management architecture on the video contents delivery

Services offering large amounts of streamed content will grow with the diffusion of high-speed access. Quality will become an important basis for the competition among contents delivery services. However it is difficult for management based on responding to device alarms to offer a video service that will satisfy most customers. Therefore it is important to check the performance from the customer's viewpoint. From the customer's viewpoint, the overall quality from the end user's personal computer to the video source through the network must be managed. This paper presents a QoS management architecture from the viewpoint of the user perspective quality. The QoS management consists of detecting quality degradation from the viewpoint of the user perspective quality and locating the cause.
