The TUC Congress took place this year in Bournemouth from 8-11 September. At the Congress, Carolyn Taylor, Chair of the Unite/CPHVA professional committee, asked delegates to support a motion for education for health services. Carolyn spoke about her time in the NHS, during which she has fought for staff to have a proper career and training structure, including continuous professional development. However, she said, she feels 'despondent' at the changes happening to the NHS and the reductions in staff pay and benefits.
