Benchmarking outcomes in resident-performed cataract surgery with toric intraocular lenses: Comment

I write after reading the interesting article by Moreira et al. on the refractive outcomes of cataract surgery and toric intraocular lens (IOL) implantation by US residents, which is published in the August 2013 edition of Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology. This study retrospectively examined the outcomes of 105 eyes of 87 patients undergoing uncomplicated cataract surgery and implantation of the AcrySof Toric IOL in eyes without ocular comorbidities.
