A method of diagnosing and increasing the residual life of high-voltage isolation of switch-gear equipment at power stations and substations

A method of considerable increasing the residual life of the electric equipment of the whole power substation is proposed. The method consists in rearranging the devices subject to their isolation condition evaluated using multiparametric diagnosis. On the basis of numerous tests undertaken at power stations and substations of Russian Public Company Power Grid of Russia and at A-plants, a technique of detecting critical units of any specific outdoor switch-gear is developed, which allows evaluating the degree and the causes of isolation aging for the devices used in various units.
