Some philosophic aspects connected with the choice of the efficient way of further production automation, which would provide maximal effectiveness of enterprise's financial, material and intellectual resources spending, are studied. The methodology of analyzing efficient ways of automation systems modernization at the plants with continuous technology by means of cognitive charts is considered.
