The Future: A Source of Innovation

I feel very honoured to be your guest and final speaker at the 52nd Annual Conference of the IFTA, the International Fruit Tree Association. I first want to introduce myself. My background is applied horticultural research and director of experimentalstations working in fruit and the glasshouse industry (vegetables and flowers). Your organization is well known for me, as I was an invited speaker at your conference of IDFTA at Hartford, Michigan in 1978, with an audience of about 1,200 people. Later,innovation became my main focus. That's the reason I am here.
