A study on a management method for ring trunk transmission networks supplied by multi-vendors

Recently, many ring systems which realize flexible, cost effective and reliable transmission networks, have been deployed in carriers' commercial networks. On the other band, ITU-T, ETSI, etc. have standardized managed objects based on the telecommunications management network (TMN) concepts. Therefore, a carrier can effectively and economically develop network operation support systems (OSSs) which manage ring systems supplied by multiple vendors. This paper proposes an NE-OSS management view and OSS management interface for NW-OSS to manage multi-vendor NE-OSS and shows an example of system implement.
