Comparative Studies on Bronzes in Early, Middle, Late Shang Dynasty, China

摘要

By summarizing information from historicaldocuments and modern reports of archaeology excavation aboutShang bronzes and analyzing the alloy composition of 45pipecessamples found in Pan-Long-Cheng, Hubei province, the paperstudied the distribution, articles'shape, decoration, castingtechnology of different period bronzes in Shang Dynasty, discusseddifferent bronzes characters of Er-Li-Tou, Er-Li-Gang, An Yang,Pan-Long-Cheng on making technology, type change, composition,casting technology etc., it is shown that the making technologyfrom early Shang to middle Shang, then in late Shang becameprosperous from primitive, interpreted the important position ofEr-Li-Gang bronzes in the development of Chinese bronze cultureand the relationship between Pan-Long-Cheng and imperial court.
