Exercise 'Esen' took place on the Shabla range on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast, in the north-east of the country. Live missile firing took place on August 26 in the presence of top-ranking officials from both countries, including Serbian President Boris Tadic, Bulgarian Prime Minister Bojko Borisov, respective defense ministers Dragan Sutanovc and Anyo Anglelov, Serbian chief of staff Gen Miloje Miletic and his Bulgarian counterpart Gen Simeon Simonov, and both air force commanders, the ViPVO's Brig Gen Ranko Zivak and the VVS's Maj Gen Konstantin Popov.
