摘要

Gas adsorption and mercury porosimetry techniques are a prominent method for comprehensive characterization of porous materials with respect to their specific surface area, pore size distribution and porosity. This requires, however, a detailed understanding of the fundamental processes associated with the sorption and phase behavior of fluids in porous materials and their influence on the shape of sorption isotherm, which serves as a basis for surface and pore size analysis. But, this understanding for analyzing various characters such as specific surface area and pore size distribution is still under development. These techniques can also be applied to surface characterization by using several moleculer probes.
