VMAT-203'S THREE ANNUAL weapons detachments to MCAS Yuma comprise 'Broken Resolution' in the spring, 'Cinco de Mayo' (Fifth of May), previously 'Hot Chilli', in the summer, and 'Turkey Bowl' in November/December. For last year's 'Turkey Bowl' the unit deployed with 11 aircraft: five TAV-8Bs and six AV-8Bs. The trek west from Cherry Point involves AV-8Bs tanking with the support of a US Air Force KC-10 Extender, while the probe-less 'T-birds' have to make the long trip cross-country.
