LIGHTNING PROGRESS: F-35 FLIGHT

Combat Aircraft provides an update on progress in flight-testing the Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. Lockheed Martin issued its latest F-35 Lighting II flight-test update on May 11. Since the previous March 31 bulletin, the company has conducted 125 test flights, bringing the total number of flights for the year to 331. Highlights included May 6, when a combined total of eight sorties was completed at all three of the F-35's flight test locations: Edwards AFB, California; Fort Worth, Texas, and NAS Patuxent River, Maryland.
