Boeing has made impressive additions to its current Super Hornet and Strike Eagle fighter lines, and looks set to continue production well into this decade. However, key international deals are vital to extending this further. Boeing's St Louis, Missouri, production plant has a long and distinguished history of building fighter aircraft. Between 1958 and 1979 no fewer than 5,057 F-4 Phantom IIs rolled off the line here when it was a McDonnell Douglas facility. Now, under Boeing, the factory is continuing to turn out F-15 Eagles, F/A-18E/F Super Hornets and EA-18G Growlers.
