摘要

The effect of autumn skiffing level of tea bushes (cv. Yabukita) on the quality and yield of fresh leaves the following year was investigated in Japan. Harvesting was done by mechanical plucking. The unharvested rate reached 34-37% with the introduction of mechanical plucking. Shallow autumn skiffing resulted in thick leaf layer, high leaf area index and high light interception, predicting high yield in the following year. Shallow skiffing induced bud growth during winter, low percentage of banjhi shoots, high tea quality in the first crop, and high tea yield in the third and fourth, hallow and medium skiffing treatments resulted in high plucking yield in the next year and high tea quality..
