VIPER CREW: A day on the 322 Squadron flightline

322 Fighter Squadron's mission is clear: to provide offensive and defensive fighter cover with its F-16AM Fighting Falcons. Cristian Schrik reports on a day in the life of the squadron's F-16 maintainers. IT IS 07.00hrs as the door of the Royal Netherlands AF 322 Squadron maintainers' building is unlocked on the north side of Leeuwarden air base. Within 30 minutes, all flightline personnel have gathered in their crew room for the morning briefing. The primary duty for the squadron maintainers is to provide combat-ready aircraft and to support flying operations. At 07.45hrs, while enjoying a fresh cup of coffee, all flightline maintenance personnel gather in their crew room for the morning briefing.
