The protein profiles in SDS-PAGE of Salmonella (S.) Typhimurium, S. Cerro, and S. Johannesburg were not different among the three isolates and immunoblotting using S. Typhimurium infected chick serum showed that these antibodies reacted with SDS-separated 37,81-kDa protein in three serovars. The reaction between the 37.81- kDa protein and the convalescent serum was also confirmed by the immunoblotting technique using 2D-PAGE. The N-terminal amino acid alignment of 37 81- kDa protein were determined as alanine-glutamine-valine-isoleucine-asparagine-thereonine-asparagine, On the other hand, in contrast of the reaction band with 37,81-kDa in three serovars of Salmonella, those of Escherichia coli, Enterobacter aewgenes, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Enterobacter cloacae were 36.5-kDa. Therefore, 37,81-kDa protein in three serovars of Salmonella were antigenically different from 36,5- kDa protein in 4 enterobacteria.
