Growth of prices restrained by weak export demand

In early July, the CIS exporters of flats sought a $10-30/t price increase butfailed because of a sluggish demand in the main consuming regions. As aresult, prices for Russian HR coils were as follows in mid-July: $575-590/t fob(MMK), $550-575/t fob (Severstal) and $570/t fob (NLMK). Ukrainian suppliersraised prices for HR coils to $540-545/t fob from $530-535/t last month.
