Lichens on Populus suaveolens (Salicaceae) in the Southern Baikal region.

A total of 155 species of epiphytic lichens were found on Populus suaveolens in the Southern Baikal region of Russia. The general characteristics of lichen species are given. Twenty four lichens are reported as the new for this region. The ecology,distribution and habitats of epiphytic lichens on poplar in river valleys of the northern slope of ridge of Khamar-Daban are discussed. Populus suaveolens is an edificator to many lichen species in the Southern Baikal region.
