Supply shortage promotes mills’ prices for welded pipes

In July, average mills’ prices for 57-108 mm GOST 10704(05) pipes have increased by 4% for domestic consumers. There is still a shortage of strip in the domestic market (that of 2 mm thick strip mainly). Delayed shipments of HRC from Ukrainian steel producers together with supply quotas are preventing pipe manufacturers from reaching their output targets. In June, production of small and medium-sized welded pipes amounted to 67,000 t (down 4-6% from planned figures).
