摘要

The biphenyl/PCB degradation system by Rhodococcus sp. RHA1 is described. RHA1 has many isoenzymes for each step of the degradation system, such as three isoenzymes for biphenyl dioxygenase, two isoenzymes for dihydrodiol dehydrogenase, three isoenzymes for 2,3-dihydroxy-biphenyl (DHBP) dioxygenase and two isoenzymes for both pentadienoate(HOPD) hydratase and oxovalelate (HOVA) aldolase. These are located on different clusters and the diverse isoenzymes work at the same time, which contributes to the strength of the degradation ability of RHA1.
