The British Minister of Energy, Lord Hunt, has visited Baku to discuss the transportation of hydrocarbons from Central Asia to Europe with SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullaev. He was told that Azerbaijan has the infrastructure to transit Caspian fuel to Turkey and Europe and that the preparations for the second stage of development of the Shahdeniz gasfield is proceeding on schedule. Abdullaev also stated that a memorandum on the delivery of CNG to Romania and Bulgaria had been signed with officials from these countries. However the proposed Nabucco gas pipeline was not mentioned in the official report of the meeting.
