Azerbaijan can play a very important role in the provision of energy security to Europe and the diversification of its energy sources according to the Chairman of the Executive Council of OMV, Wolfgang Ruttenstorfer. He is urging that speedy decisions should be taken on the construction of the proposed Nabucco gas pipeline in the apparent belief that, once it has been built, there should be no problem in filling it with sufficient gas from somewhere to render it profitable.
