Differential expressions containing terms of the form (p(x)y~(m))~(n) often occur in applied problems. If the coefficient p(x) is not sufficiently smooth, then such expressions cannot be reduced to ordinary differential expressions by n-fold differentiation; hence they are referred to as quasidifferential.
