During the visit of BP President Robert Dudley to Baku, he signed a 50-50 PSA contract with SOCAR President Rovnag Abduilaev and the President of BP Azerbaijan, Rashid Javanshir, on the exploration and development of the Shafag/Asiman (D8 and D10) blocks in the Caspian. The PSA provides for BP Azerbaijan and SOCAR to set up a joint operating company if the decision is taken to carry out the commercial exploitation of the field.
