摘要

A database containing milk recording data of 514 black and white herds to August 2013 was used to generate a dataset of over 30,000 cows calving in a four month period in 2010 (1st September to 31st December). The study searched for potential indicators of metabolic stress in early lactation by comparing milk yield and constituents obtained from the first milk recording (FMR) with subsequent lactation yields and fertility outcomes. In addition to recorded yields of milk, fat and protein, the study examined deviations from individual animal "expected" yields (routinely generated within the InterHerd+ program and based on regression analyses of previous herd milk records). The study also tested parameters in the previous lactation as possible predictors of problems, particularly early culling, in the subsequent lactation
