Review: Reducing interruptions during medication administration: the White Vest study

摘要

This paper offers the reader an interesting perspective on tackling the challenges associated with reducing preventable medication administration errors (MAEs), the financial cost of which is widely acknowledged across the world. Since it is nurses who are largely responsible for administering medication to patients, it is nurses who are often implicated in this type of medication error. This paper had two main aims: to investigate the most frequently observed interruptions during medication administration (MA) and to evaluate the introduction of a White Vest.
