Careful balancing of the mineral supply including macro-minerals, trace elements and vitamins to all categories of dairy cattle is essential in order to maximise health and productivity and to prevent both deficiency and toxicity. Research has shown that both over- and under-supplementation of minerals is common on UK dairy units.
