摘要

Refractories are regarded as typical heterogeneous, porous and powdered materials. Strength evaluation theory on the sintered body had been well researched and sufficiently developed. However, as for the strength theory on porous bodies and powdered bodies such as refractories, there are still many problems remaining. The author believes that it is possible to establish a sufficiently effective evaluation theory for refractories that is suitable for practical use by adopting information and thought from continuum mechanics, fracture theory for particle aggregates and powdered bodies, statistical theory and fracture mechanics in conjunction with consideration of multi-axial stress states.
